The situation in Syria continues to drive the largest refugee crisis in the world. With significant support from the international community, the five countries under the Regional Refugee and Resilience plan (3RP) – Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt – are now into their second decade generously hosting millions of Syrian refugees, refugees of other nationalities, asylum seekers, and stateless persons despite many internal challenges. At the end of 2021, in these countries, there are approximately 7.1 million refugees, asylum seekers and stateless persons, including 5.7 million registered Syrian refugees.
